Dear members,
It is with profound sadness and sorrow that I inform you of the passing of Vivian Mullin. For those of you who don’t know who she was. Vivian Mullin worked in Criminal Supreme many years ago and has long since been retired. Our historical accounting is not as accurate as we would like or should be, and in light of this many and I myself believe that she was the FIRST Black female Court Officer. Also what we know in all certainty is that she was the first Part Supervisor or Part Captain of color as they were referred to in those days. My Condolences to her Family and to those in our Court Family who remember her. Arrangements to follow. Thank you.
Sidney Moses,
President of the Guardians of the New York State Courts
