Wingate Park Summertime Concert Series
Once again, Brooklyn’s Borough President is the host of a free music concert series for the month of August in Wingate Park. Enjoy jazz at lunch from 12 – 1pm on the steps of Borough Hall Plaza/Columbus Park Plaza – 209 Joralemon Street as a host of jazz musicians entertain you on Friday August 18th and 25th.
The Wingate Park evening concert series has one event left on Tuesday, August 22nd. The “Afro-Caribbean Flavor” series will present legendary acts such as Dahved Levy, Denroy Morgan, Morgan Heritage, Mr. Easy, Nheon Mark, Red Fox, and much ore. The show begins at 7pm, is free and open to the public. Gates open 6pm.
The Brooklyn Borough Presidents office and National Grid (gas company) for over 30 years have partnered to bring free concerts to parks and waterfronts for summertime entertainment.
Medger Evers College – Soulfest Fundraiser
Medgar Evers College is holding a Soulfest festival on Saturday, September 9, 2017 at the parking lot located at 1650 Bedford Avenue between Franklin Avenue and Bedford Avenue. The intention of this event is to raise scholarship money and introduce a bunch of opportunities for college students eligible for financial aid. Crafts, fashion show and entertainment from many genres will be displayed.

When you visit the dollar store – pick up a tube of toothpaste, pack of toothbrushes, deodorant, shampoo, body wash or an item you know can be of good use to a person in need. That way you can meet a need with your supply. Small things from big hearts create an atmosphere that shows others you care.
Grand Council of Guardians Women’s History Month Program 2018 will be here sooner than you think. If you stash away $10.00 per pay period now, it can get you off to a good start to be able to purchase a ticket for you, your family members and a friend to sit with our organization.
